Business Development Manager

About the role: 
CropTec is an essential event for arable and mixed farmers, agronomists and advisers, sprayer and spreader operators and contractors. CropTec brings together farmers, industry experts and researchers to share knowledge and experience with colleagues from around the country. It also provides the perfect platform to discuss current agronomic challenges and future plans face-to-face with suppliers and experts. CropTec is part of the Agriconnect portfolio, the largest multi-platform agricultural information business in the UK. 

We now have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven salesperson to join the team. Reporting into the Event Manager, the successful candidate will focus on growing the event through extensive phone-based exhibition sales and face to face meetings.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Sales presentations over the phone 
  • Face to face sales presentations 
  • Develop strategies to meet the annual sales target 
  • Day to day administration duties  
  • Researching new leads and sectors to explore 
  • Account management 
  • Attending industry events throughout the year 
  • Track daily sales  
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure the successful coordination of the event 
  • Constantly demonstrate high levels of customer service to new and existing customers  

Skills and Experience: 

  • Previous experience in a similar environment preferably in events or media organisation but not essential 
  • Experience of developing and implementing successful sales leads 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Highly motivated, with an ability to meet ambitious performance goals 
  • The ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively 
  • Driven, ambitious and target driven
