Welcome to AgriConnect

                 The Home of Farmsitters

Welcome to the Home of Farmsitters. This service will help the rural community find help for your farm or acreage. Whether you need someone for a day or a month, there are people near you who will help. We are building a network of people willing to help people.

The web site has been up since the fall of 2007 and the response we are getting is extremely positive. This is a new service never before offered in Canada.  Tell your friends and neighbours to sign up to be a farm sitter and you can request a sitter for FREE!

We are now offering this service in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

We had a very successful debut in Saskatchewan at the Farm Progress Show.  Lots of people stopped by the booth and are thrilled this service is being offered in two provinces now. We need farm sitters in Saskatchewan so if you know of people who have some time to work on a farm or acreage, let them know about this opportunity.   Read more about our Saskatchewan debut in the AgriConnect News section on this web site.

This web site is designed as a portal web site, you should be able to navigate to various sites to get the information you need then come back to this site to look up the next vital piece of information. Almost everything you need in an agricultural based web site exists in AgriConnect.com and its portals, - it's informative, easy to navigate and user friendly.

An encouraging email from someone who needs
                         our service and your help.

Wow!  It is wonderful that you have started AgriConnect to match Farmers with Farmsitters.

With the peaks of work in different seasons and in different farming operations it can be very difficult to find temporary employees.  It is tough enough to find permanent full-time employees in any industry. ........

AgriConnect allows a connection between farmers and farmsitters to fill the needs on both sides.  Farmsitters get to do what they love and gain some extra cash.  For the farmer labor relief is welcomed and appreciated.  Everyone wins.  ..................

What was surprising was this service is being offered free due to sponsorship from a variety of businesses and organizations.  It was a great feeling to see these sponsors stand behind us. ..................

Thank You.

Regards,

L. Marshall

SOME QUOTES ABOUT OUR NEW SERVICE

*This idea is one that is greatly needed and I congratulate you on moving forward with it....The Honourable Brain Storseth, MP Westlock - St. Paul. Also a Member of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food (AGRI).

*The concept of creating a data base of competent Farmsitters across Alberta to provide assistance to farmers is very unique and innovative...... The Honourable Ken Kowalski, Speaker of the Alberta Legislative Assembly and MLA Barrhead - Morinville - Westlock

*It was a pleasure to discover a novel approach to solving the problem of replacement workers that plaques the agricultural industry. ... Daria Taylor on behalf of Alberta Milk's Farm Labour Working Group

*Labour shortages in the Canadian agriculture industry are indeed a serious challenge to overcome.... I commend you on your initiative and wish you the best of success in this endeavour.  Danielle Vinette, Executive Director with the Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council

*The "farmsitting" concept being promoted by AgriConnect Corp. is a unique way to match labour shortages with availability. Wild Rose Agriculture Producers is certainly keenly aware of the labour shortages being experienced by the agricultural sector and the "farmsitting" concept warrants our support.  Rod Scarlett,  Executive Director, Wild Rose Agricultural Producers Association.

*Lack of trained human resources means significant potential for economic loss as well as increasing the risk of accidental injury from Farming operations. AgriConnect Corp. has potential to mitigate some of the risk associated with the chronic lack of availability of trained labour.   Ward Toma, Geral Manager, Alberta Conola Producers Commission.

And the list goes on.  We have numerous other letters of support and we thought we would share some of them so you can see how this service is helping the industry.

Thanks to everyone who dropped in to visit with us at all the trade shows. Your enthusiasm for this service makes us want to work harder at spreading the word about this new service.  You can help. The more people that know about this service the faster it will grow.

We hear story after story of the farmers and acreage owners who are in need of this service.  Anything from having to continue to do the work on the farm while seriously injured, people considering selling out because they can't find help and people who have not had a holiday in years because they can't leave the animals alone and can't find someone to look after them.

We are looking for Farmsitters and farm help in the Strathmore, Kronau SK, Canora SK, Olds, Warburg, and Legal areas.  We have lots of request for help with harvest in Saskatchewan and Alberta. We also have numerous opportunities on milk farms.

           THANKS FOR YOUR ENCOURAGING COMMENTS:

As we go around to the trade fairs, we are truly humbled by the comments we get from people stopping by to find out about Farmsitting.  Comments such as; "WOW, this is truly going to help the rural landowners". The other comments we hear are "Where were you 3 years ago before I had to sell my farm because I couldn't find help?". Or; "Why didn't somebody think of this sooner, this is terrific!"

                   _______________________________________________

Thanks to all of you for supporting the initiative and we need you to help us spread the word.  The more people who know about this and support it, the more farms we will be able to help.
                       _______________________________________________

Please take note of our sponsors and advertisers.  These are the companies that are helping this initiative grow. We need more companies to help the rural community by supporting this effort. Imagine if they would help spread the word through their advertising or on their web sites, we could be helping thousands of farmers!

If you know some board members, senior management, reps and salesmen at companies you think might be able to help grow this initiative, let them know about this service.
